The office will provide a local base for customer engagement, technical support, and project coordination, bringing IGS's engineering capabilities closer to operators in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, and other industrial sectors.
Expanding local asset integrity and energy efficiency support
Through its new São Paulo office, IGS will provide access to complementary services, including HVTS® corrosion-resistant alloy cladding, specialist and automated welding, fired heater performance recovery, and thermal efficiency solutions.
Combining welding and HVTS enables operators to address structural repair and long-term equipment protection through a coordinated approach. Qualified welding techniques can restore damaged components or lost wall thickness, while HVTS alloy cladding provides corrosion and erosion protection to help reduce future metal loss. This approach can simplify project coordination and turnaround execution.
IGS also supports energy efficiency improvements through Cetek ceramic coatings, TubeTech cleaning technologies, and Hot-tek online maintenance services. These solutions help operators address fouling, improve heat transfer, recover equipment performance, and reduce fuel consumption and associated emissions.
Supporting Brazil's offshore energy sector
Offshore oil and gas operators in Brazil face complex asset integrity challenges, with corrosion, erosion, and limited maintenance access complicating repairs and long-term protection.
One of the first projects delivered from IGS's new São Paulo location involved applying HVTS® alloy cladding to replacement hull panels on a deepwater floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel operating offshore Brazil.
Applying HVTS before installation helped the operator address corrosion and erosion risks while avoiding the challenges of carrying out protective cladding work directly offshore. The approach aims to extend equipment service life and reduce future maintenance requirements.
Aldo Menegatti, Head of Market Expansion – LATAM at IGS, said: "Establishing a local presence in São Paulo allows us to work more closely with customers and provide more responsive technical support. By bringing together our asset integrity, welding and energy efficiency expertise, we can help operators address immediate maintenance challenges while improving the long-term reliability and performance of their equipment."
The new office is located at Rua Carlos Lisdegno Carlucci, 60, Butantã, São Paulo, SP 05536-000, Brazil.
